Cashmere is a luxurious and delicate fabric that, contrary to common belief, actually loves water. Pilling typically occurs due to repeated friction, a natural excess of fibers, or a “thirsty” fabric.
To maintain its softness and flexibility, we recommend washing your cashmere sweater after wearing it two or three times.
You can wash it either by hand or machine, using cold water and a small amount of special wool detergent, without fabric softener. If machine washing, select the wool cycle and use a spin speed no higher than 500 RPM. For hand washing, follow the same instructions, gently kneading the sweater without wringing it out.
Be sure to dry the sweater flat, away from direct light, and iron it on a low setting. To remove excess fibers, you can use a cashmere comb.
